What’s inside
Your computer for work, your phone to stay in touch
Layers for Mac, Windows and Linux
- Works offline. The app runs its own Layers server inside, and your data stays on your computer.
- Local or connected. At launch, choose to work locally, sign in to the Layers cloud or connect to your company’s server.
- Documents in tabs. Documents and spreadsheets open as tabs in the same window.
- Editors in one click. On Mac and Windows, SumDoc and SumSheet install right from the app, with the file verified by SHA-256.
- Updates. The app tells you when a new version is out and shows what changed; it installs once you confirm. On Linux, in the AppImage build.
Mobile app
- Chats and calls. Messages, calls and call history.
- Contacts. Your contacts and contact requests.
- Workspace pages. Your team’s documents at hand.
- Notifications about what needs your attention.
- Self-hosted. Enter your company’s server address when you sign in.

The Mac versions are notarized by Apple. The Windows installers aren’t signed with a trusted certificate yet, so SmartScreen will warn you; check the SHA-256 on the download page.
How big is the installer?
About 770 MB for Mac, about 520 MB for Windows x64, and 1–1.2 GB for Windows ARM64 and Linux. It includes the Layers server and the document editors, which is why the app works offline.
Is there a version for Intel Macs?
Not yet: the installer is built for Apple silicon. On an Intel Mac, open Layers in your browser.
Why is the app called LayersAll in the App Store?
It’s the Layers mobile app for iPhone and iPad. On Google Play it’s called Layers.
Rather not install anything?
Open Layers in your browser or deploy it on your own server.
